Osoyoos & South Okanagan Wedding Photography|Nikki Dawn Photography

One day a customs officer was just working hard and doing his job, when a beautiful girl drives through the border. He thinks she is very sweet so they chat a little bit and she continues on her way. This starts to happen quite often as her job requires her to cross the border daily. Eventually one day, the boy asked the girl to go out with him and the rest is history.

Meet Matt and Caroline. I was extremely happy to spend this day with them to hear their sweet story and get to know them as a couple! We spent the afternoon together taking advantage of our beautiful surroundings and just had fun letting them interact with one another. After we finished, we all hopped into their jeep and they took me to the spot where Matt proposed. We had to off road about 30 min on a dirt road and when we got there, climbed a little ways up the hill where we came to the most beautiful place. This view was spectacular! Surrounded by only mountains and overlooking the similkameen river, it was so quiet and simply breathtaking. This had obviously quickly became their favourite spot and Matt thought it would be the perfect place to propose. He sent her on a little scavenger hunt where she had to figure out the clues to get her to the next spot. After driving to different locations, the last clue sent her to their favourite spot. Caroline started up the hill and followed the arrows (just incase she took the wrong turn) until she came to Matt who had just cracked a beer. :) Caroline said that at this point she obviously new what was happening and almost couldn’t contain her excitement. 

The love these 2 have for each other is just so obvious and really just beams out of them. I am so excited to have been able to spend this day with them and am so looking forward to their upcoming June wedding. ENJOY~

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of being apart of a wonderful wedding fair here in Osoyoos that took place at Spirit Ridge. It was so much fun and I really enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people in the wedding industry. That evening, as a part of the wedding fair, the resort put on a dinner and dance for all who attended. Alicia with Parasio Events decorated the whole ballroom for the occasion. To showcase some of her work, she made each table into a different theme and color scheme. Because she had so much varitey in one room, Alicia asked me if I would come early and take some photos of the decor on each table. Everything looked beautiful and I am happy to showcase these photos for her! Enjoy~

Back in November I was so excited to photograph this cute little family of 3… The Josephson’s.  They had just announced that they were excpecting baby #2 and that they were having another BOY! Well like I promised, now that Jen has popped and due anyday, we got together to document her cute little belly. Now when I say little, I mean it! I am not even exaggerating when I say that my belly was that big when I was only 5 months pregnant. But Jen looks so increadible and is so ready and excited to meet this new baby. 

And of course we also had to have a few shots with little man Cooper because he is just way to adorable!

 When Mike and Holly Plante asked me to do their family photos on Boxing day, and of course said I would LOVE to! Their family was only in town for a few days and it was the only chance to get photos of them all together. It ended up being a perfect morning with the ground covered in a beautiful blanket of snow. 

Constantly laughing and throwing snowballs at each other… this family is hularious. They made my job so easy and kept me smiling the whole time. I am so happy I was able to spend some time with their family and get to know them. We tried to keep it quick as the little ones were starting to freeze, but we got some great shots and I truly had a great time! ENJOY~

I LOVE this family. As I have said several times before they are one of my biggest supporters. The last time you saw this family  Elyse was 8 months pregnant and they were preparing for another Baby Boy. Well Bairek is a couple months old now and Travis and Elyse have 2 beautiful boys. 

I was so excited when Elyse told me they were coming to Osoyoos for Christmas and I was going to get to snuggle this adorable little baby. I always have so much fun hanging out with these guys and of course we were able to squeeze in a little photo shoot too. ENJOY!

Meet my amazing second shooter Jen… and her adorable family. Jen is by my side for all of my weddings and we have alot of  fun together. We think of it as a mom’s day out. We get to spend the day with awesome people, laugh, cry, eat good food and do what we love, which is of course photograph beautiful weddings. Jen has been a huge blessing to me and I love that I have someone like her that I can count on to be exactly what I need on my busy days.

So now Jen’s adorable family of 3 is soon growing into a family of 4 and I am super stoked for them. When we originally planned this little pre-Christmas shoot, they didnt know what they were having (boy or girl)… so when I showed up and saw BLUE ballooons floating I was over the moon.

I will definitely be making Jen do some more BELLY photos when she is closer to poping, so stay tuned… but for now check out her super cute family. The Josephson family… Ben, Jen and Cooper.

This was such a fun family to work with. An extended family all brought together to Osoyoos with the intention of a big family photo session, and of course… a turkey dinner as an incentive. Who could pass that up. We had a blast. It was such a gorgeous sunny day, and the background was their beautiful family orchard. I was so thrilled when Lisa asked me to do these photos for them, and I really enjoyed meeting all of her family. Enjoy!

I had so much fun with these 3 little munchkins. Lily, Duncan, and Oliver… So cute right! The Gronberg family has the most beautiful home so we decided to do the photos in and around the house. What a beautiful setting! These kids are such little characters with so much personality. NOT SHY AT ALL and so good infront of the camera. It definitely Made for a fun session. And when Duncan heard my name was Nikki, he started calling me Nicki Minaj. LOL. enjoy

Well if you have followed me in the past you have seen this little girl grow. Little Miss Lucy Lang is now 2! The lang family was spending a week in Osoyoos at the end of September camping with friends and family and so we decided to do her photos while they were here. Though we did get a couple of shots of the family… you will be seeing more of them in a few weeks when I do their family photos! ENJOY

A Beautiful September wedding in the sunny Okanagan. Jason and Melissa’s day was awesome! As you have heard me mention before, OSOYOOS is my favorite place (and where I live)… So how excited was I when Melissa and Jason asked me to do their wedding photos. SO EXCITED!!! The ceremony took place overlooking the gorgeous Osoyoos Lake and the reception had all the elements of this beautiful wine country. As a surprise to Jason, Melissa and I had planned to do their photos at the fire hall as Jason is a Fire Fighter in the lower mainland. Jason was totally suprised and it just added to the fun we had throughout the day. Thanks guys for letting me be apart of your very special day… I had such a great time. enjoy!
