Spring time in the Okanagan is just such an amazing time for photos. The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the trees are covered in blossoms. For this lovely couple the blossoms came at just the right time.
Meet Michael and Marife (M&M)! Marife originally came to meet me in Osoyoos with her soon to be mom and sister in law. She was so cute and really was just mostly worried about how Michael and her would do in photos. She said Michael always made a certain silly face :) Well the time came for their engagment photos and they both did amazing. Michael was constantly making Marife giggle and they really just fell into the moment together and had so much fun. I think they look absolutely beautiful and I am so excited to see them again at their upcoming wedding this fall.
This past spring I had the oppourtunity to spend a lovely afternoon with Andrew and Janelle. They are getting married this fall at the beautiful Spirit Ridge Resort here is Osoyoos and I cant wait to be apart of their big day. I hadn’t met Andrew or Janelle before there engagment session, so we just spent the afternoon walking and chatting about the two of them and how they met. These two are so sweet together and we had such a great time. I loved having the chance to get to know them better and look forward to more good times this September when they tie the knot >>>
We are so lucky that in Osoyoos we can enjoy such amazingly warm weather in September. What a day this was… Beautiful in every way.
Matt and Kirsten are just a truly genuinely sweet couple. From the moment I joined them I felt so welcomed and apart of this great group of people. We spent this beautiful day having FUN. There is no better word just FUN. The groomsmen kept us all in stitches as they figured out their next move. So full of ideas and witty comments I couldn’t stop laughing. Kirsten and Matt were flawless… and even when we couldnt get to our desired 2nd destination for photos, it didn’t faze them because they were married and thats all that really mattered :)
This fabulous wedding took place on September 13th at the beautiful Watermark Resort in sunny Osoyoos. The day was perfect, we captured some amazing photos and I was so honoured to be apart of every minute. Thank you Matt + Kirsten for letting me join you on your special day.
A big HIGHFIVE to Allison of Signature Moments INC for doing such an amazing job. I so look forward to working with you again.
Obviously you all know how much I LOVE being able to photograph weddings in Osoyoos. The beautiful weather, spectacular views, wineries, beaches etc. It’s an even better bonus when parents of the bride have such an amazing property in such a place. A beautiful backyard wedding with all of their close family and friends. It was a lovely day and I don’t know if I have ever seen such a more relaxed wedding party.
We started off the day at Thea’s parents house while the girls were getting ready. Her mom was decorating the wedding cake, Thea was writing her speech, and dad was chillin on the couch. It was awesome! A sense of calmness spread throughout the house. A little while later Thea got ready and into her beautiful dress and it was now time to see Wes.
The first look was so amazing. We headed to the old barns [if your from Osoyoos you know what Im talking about] and Wes stood patiently as he waited for Thea to come. Their family waited around to see and of course everyone was crying [including myself]. A special moment for the bride and groom before they started their busy fun filled day.
PHOTOTIME. We had so much fun with these guys. Lots of smiles and laughter, and the sun… the sun was definitely my friend this day.
Like I said before the wedding took place at Thea’s Parents beautiful home here in Osoyoos. The place looked stunning and the wood Arbour was handmade by Thea’s obviously talented father.
After the ceremony was over we all headed over to the beautiful Walnut Beach Resort where the reception took place. Thea’s hard work payed off as the room was perfect. She had made all of the tea cup candles herself with all different types of patterned tea cups… it was gorgeous. The night was filled with Amazing food, tons of laughter and lots of fun stories of Thea and Wes throughout the years. It was a perfect day and I am again so grateful that I was chosen to be apart of it. Congratulations Wes +Thea.
Justin and Jacquie contacted me last year about photographing their beautiful wedding at Tinhorn Creek Vineyards. They are living in Alberta and decided to have their wedding at this wonderful spot here in the Okanagan. I was thrilled that they asked me to be apart of their special day and we did all of the planning via phone and email. As the day grew closer, they took a little road trip to come tie up some loose ends and we were finally able to meet in person. We clicked right away and I loved everything they had envisioned for their big day. When it came to the actual wedding day everyone was full of fun ideas and they even braved a little water. I LOVED it! Made for such a good time with lots of laughter.
Once again this beautiful wedding was brilliant and ran extra smooth thanks to all the work from the lovely Abby Penner [True Devotion Wedding + Event Planning]. Abby and I have worked together several times now and I even photographed her own wedding back in 2010. She is so organized and handles everything with such professionalism. I LOVE this girl.
Everything about this day was perfect. Jacquie + Justin are just the sweetest couple and both looked so amazing. You can see how much these two are loved by all their family and friends and totally supported in their love and commitment to one another. It was a good day :)
This wedding was very dear to me and I was so PUMPED to be apart of it! Ashley is one of my very special friends. We worked side by side for many many years back in our serving days. I wouldn’t exactly say the gold ol days… We were young, stressed about money and life in general, but we definitely had some fun and a great group of girls to work with.
Well Ashley I am thrilled to say that we have come a long way. We both have amazing husbands, adorable kids (if I do say so myself) and though life will never be stress free, those stresses are just different. I am so happy you found the man of your dreams. You were such a beautiful bride and Justin you are one very lucky dude!
It was a beautiful summer day and the sun was shining. Justin had a pep in his step as he danced down the isle with a smile on his face. Excited to see his bride.. and she was glowing.
This wonderful bridal party was so much fun. A tight knit group of family and friends. They had such fun ideas and though one of these 6 gorgeous girls is a wedding photographer herself, she did very well on the other side of the camera. (shout out to Kerensa of Kerensa Leigh Photography).
For those of you who know Abbotsford, you know that Clayburn Village is such a fun place to go… especially to the huge candy store ;) So when Ashley told me the wedding was going to be at the Old Clayburn Schoolhouse I knew it would be amazing. Such a great location. The building added so much character to the decor and the vision came together beautifully. All the little details that these girls spent hours putting together were amazing. The night was perfect… full of laughter and tears and a whole lot of fun!
Thanks Justin + Ashely… thank you so much for choosing me to play such a role in your big day. It was truly an honor! ENJOY ~
I had the pleasure of Meeting Paul and Emily just 1 day before their wedding. They both live in Venezuela and come to Osoyoos every summer to spend time with Family, and since they were coming so far their family did most of the planning for them.
It was a very intimate evening at the beautiful Adega Estate Winery consisting of only family. Everyone came together to celebrate this amazing couple and this sunny summer night was full of so much fun and laughter. I am so happy that Paul and Emily chose me to be apart of this very special day and I look forward to seeing them again next year when they come to back Osoyoos for their annual vacation.
Walking into this wedding was a little nerve racking yet very exciting for me as it was the 1st time I had ever met Jessica + Richard. They first contacted me last year through my website and we did all of our chatting and planning online and via phone and email. So when I walked into the room it was so great to finally put a face to a name and I gave Jessica a big hug :)
When I arrived in the morning Jessica and her mom were together getting her ready for the day. Jessica and Rich decided not to have a bridal party and to just let all of their friends be there enjoying the day with them. I think it was very special for a mom and a daughter to have that time together and started off the day in such a calm environment. Jessica walked out excited, beautiful and ready to see her man.
Richard was standing outside waiting in anticipation for his bride to come and meet him, and Jessica walked out glowing. There is something about a FIRSTLOOK that is so awesome for a couple, and this moment was just all about them. They laughed and cried and hugged and kissed and then we walked and got some ridiculously amazing photos ;) The rest of the day was just as perfect and we all had so much fun together. Once again Spirit Ridge was such a beautiful location and did an amazing job of everything.
I always love shooting weddings at Spirit Ridge Vineyards because who can resist a rooftop view of Osoyoos. Mike and Andrea you two had such a beautiful day that it just made your background that much more spectacular. I knew walking into this wedding that we were going to have a lot of fun. When I first met with Andrea and Mike they told me a little about them and what they were looking for and it just screamed good taste and a good time. After that meeting, the two of them went home and did a little homework for me. They sent me some images of photos that they thought might be fun and some ideas they liked. Well the day was amazing and the wedding party just added to they entertainment. They were a hoot and there was never a dull moment.
The beautiful scenery, amazing food, good people and great stories made this day such a joy to be apart of. Thank you Mike and Andrea for having me :)
May has got to be one of my favorite months in general but also to photograph weddings in the Okanagan. The weather is beautiful and everything is turning green, but yet it isnt crazy hot yet… and this beautiful May day was just the same!
Aimee and Carlo’s wedding took place at the beautiful Watermark Resort on the water. Aimee was stunning in her gorgeous white dress and Carlo, well he was her PRINCE as my daughter would say. Surrounded by all their family and friends, these two stood on the beach with her grandfather and said their vows. Aimee is hulairous and wanted to make sure nothing happend to her vows that she kept them in a tupperware container to avoid any damage.
The rest of the day was tons of fun and it was so nice getting to know these two better. The words that were spoken about Aimee and Carlo, and the stories that were told were just filled with so much JOY and laughter. They are truly loved by all and are just sweetest couple. I am so happy I was able to be apart of their special day.
